Fernbug is a small, one-person business that makes illustrated Bible story books for children. This site is fernbug.com. Using it, joining the mailing list, or buying a book means you agree to what's written on this page.

Everything we sell is digital. There is no physical book, and nothing is shipped. When you buy, you get the right to read that book on this site, in a browser, on any device you sign in on.

• You can buy a single book at a single age tier, or the whole series at every published age tier as one bundle.
• If you already bought individual books from a series and then buy the bundle, what you already paid is credited against the bundle price automatically.
• We will not let you buy the same thing twice — checkout stops you and points you at your account instead.
• Access is tied to the email address you buy with. Keep that address working, because it is how we know the books are yours.

You don't have to make an account before you buy. When a payment succeeds we create one for you using the email address you checked out with, and the delivery email carries a link that signs you straight in. You can later add a password if you prefer one, or keep signing in with an emailed link.

Your account is yours. Please don't share your sign-in link or password around — anyone who has it can read everything you bought.

Prices are shown on the page before you pay, in US dollars, and that is what you are charged. Any discount code or bundle credit is worked out on our server, not in your browser, so the number on screen is the real one.

Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details are typed into Stripe's own payment form and go straight to Stripe. We never see, handle or store your card number.

Delivery is immediate. The moment Stripe confirms your payment, access is granted to the email you used and we send you a delivery email with a one-tap sign-in link and your invoice attached as a PDF. You don't have to wait for anything.

If that email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder first, then tell us and we'll resend it.

We want these stories used. Read them at bedtime, teach from them, print the coloring pages for your homeschool table or your Sunday School class — as many copies as the children in front of you need. That is what they're for.

What we ask you not to do:

• Don’t resell the books, the illustrations, the narration or the songs, on their own or as part of something else.
• Don’t republish them publicly — uploading pages, audio or songs to a website, app or social platform as your own content.
• Don’t share your account so people who haven’t bought a book can read it.
• Don’t strip our name off the work or claim it as yours.

If you want to use a book in a way this doesn't cover — a church-wide licence, a curriculum, a conference — just ask. The answer is usually yes.

We use AI tools as part of making these books: Anthropic's Claude helps draft and shape the text, Together AI generates the illustrations, and ElevenLabs produces the read-aloud narration and the songs. Nothing publishes itself. Every book is read, edited and published by hand before it goes near the store.

The books, illustrations, narration, songs and everything else on this site belong to us. Buying a book gives you the right to read and use it as described above; it doesn't transfer ownership of the work.

We'll do our best to keep the site up and to keep the books you bought available for as long as we reasonably can. We can't promise the site will never be down, that a link will never break, or that the library will never change — books get revised, and occasionally one gets pulled.

If something you paid for stops working or disappears, tell us. We'll fix it or make it right.

Please use the site the way it was meant to be used: don't try to break into other people's accounts, scrape the library, hammer our forms, or get around the checks that decide who can read what. We rate-limit requests and we will close an account that's being used to do any of that.

What we collect, what we don't, and who else touches it is all written out in the privacy policy.

We sell these books as they are. We've made them with real care, but we can't promise a book will suit every child, every classroom or every theological conviction — read the sample pages and the age guidance before you buy.

To the extent the law allows, our responsibility to you for anything connected with a purchase is limited to refunding what you paid us for it. We aren't liable for indirect or knock-on losses. Nothing here takes away consumer rights you have by law — where those rights and these terms disagree, your legal rights win.

These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law jurisdiction — to be confirmed], and any dispute we can't sort out between us belongs to the courts there.

If we change something here, we'll update the date at the top of the page. A change never reaches back and alters an order you already placed — the terms that applied when you bought are the terms that apply to that purchase.
