Yes. In the story God Knows My Name, a child learns that God thinks about them more than all the sand on the shore. And when Jesus' friends said "Not now" to the children who wanted to see Him, Jesus did the opposite of sending them away. He welcomed them. He said, "Let the little children come to Me." (Mark 10:14)

Count the sand
Next time you're at a beach, scoop up one handful and try to count it. You won't get far. That is the picture the story gives your child: God's thoughts of them are more than all the sand on the shore.
The story is built on the words of Psalm 139. God knows when your child sits and when they stand. God stays with them everywhere, even in the dark. God knit them together before they were born. Your child is fearfully and wonderfully made, and God knows their name.

When the answer was "Not now"
Then the story turns to Jesus. His disciples tried to send the little children away, as if Jesus had more important things to do. Jesus didn't see it that way. He welcomed the children and made room for them.
Many children know what it feels like to hear "Not now," "Wait," or "You're too little." This story tells them that Jesus always has time for them. The God who knows every detail about them is also the Jesus who opens His arms.

Why this matters for kids
- A bedtime worry like the dark feels smaller when a child knows God is with them there.
- Being known by name is a comfort. It says "you matter" without any conditions.
- Hearing that Jesus welcomed children helps them believe they can come to Him just as they are.
Talk about it together
- Why do you think the disciples said "Not now"? How do you think the children felt?
- God is with us even in the dark. What helps you remember that at bedtime?
